Yesterday my friend Ivan from university came out to Wellington for the day. I showed him around the downtown areas, Manners Mall, and Cuba Street. We shopped for a while looking at New Zealand clothing for something he could take home. We went up to the top of the cable car and had a great sunny view of the city. There is a massive tree right at the top of the hill that you can climb up to the flat top of and get an even greater view of the city. Unfortunately Ivan didn’t have the clothes to climb the tree and I got a little dirty for my own amusement. We walked down the many steps back into downtown, grabbed a bite to eat, and then headed for a beer. We missioned down to Kitty O’Sheas, an Irish pub on Courtnay for a few pints and hung out for a bit while the wind howled around us.
Ivan is gone now, headed for the South Island. Hopefully he’ll have as much fun as we did, though he didn’t seem to keen to jump The Nevis.
Not much to do now though, just sitting around waiting for Sunday when Matt comes to visit. I found a few pictures in my camera from when it broke that I never uploaded, I will get around to it in the next few days.
