Saturday night I headed out to Lower Hutt for the Lower Hutt Soccer windup party for the club. It was held at the R.S.A. out near the centre of town and had all the teams there (about 10 men’s and 4 women’s teams). It was an interesting night, especially when they opened the bar tab to the club and cut everyone loose on the alcohol. People were bringing us jugs faster than we can drink them, and when they weren’t free they were only $7.50! We went to go watch the All Blacks stomp Portugal in the World Cup by close to 100 points before heading into town for some good times. I had forgotten how entertaining town can be but how stupid it can be too. It all came back to me quickly when one hard drink in town cost more than a whole jug at the R.S.A.
