In New Zealand they sell a lot of different types of Ready-To-Drinks. RTDs are those pre-mixed drinks that you mostly see girls drinking at parties, vodka coolers, gin and tonics, things like that. Well a few nights ago when I was out having a few drinks with friends I was tossing back the CC and dry. The second place we went to, I went to the bar and ordered a drink. The bartender asked me “Do you want the rock glass or the bottle?” I was trying to figure out what the bottle meant, surely it wasn’t a whole bottle of CC, so I had to ask what it was.
I was shocked, I had never quite seen something like that before. I didn’t buy it that time, something about buying a CC and dry RTD didn’t sit right with me. However I would try it if someone else were to pay for it. So when someone offered to buy me another drink I asked for the bottle to see what it was like. It was awful. I could barely taste the whiskey, and it had a real disgusting flat taste to it. In the end all I proved was that some things shouldn’t be pre mixed, and CC is one of them.
