Today I had my first boxing session at the gym. It was so much harder than I thought it would be. We started simple, using the bag to work on techniques and simple moves. We next moved into using the hand pads, mixing up the three different punches learned on the bag. Simple sets like jab, cross and hook then getting slightly more challenging by calling combinations of the three on the fly. I was having a bit of trouble with my hands doing some punches, I was starting to get some pain with every hit but stuck through it until the end. The session was over at about that time but it left me feeling completely drained. I don’t feel awful and sore after getting a full body workout like that anymore so at least some fitness progress is being made.
