Google has quietly (or publicly, but I didn’t hear) launched their street view overlay of Google Maps. This comes a few weeks after Australia’s launch of the service and was met with less fuss from privacy advocates than in other countries. Surprisingly, most of New Zealand seems to have been captured before launch, unlike other Google street view launches, but this was probably not too difficult given the size of New Zealand.
With this new service available to New Zealand, I would encourage you to take a virtual walk through Wellington, and you might gain a bit of insight into the city I’ve come to love. I have started working on getting together some of my favourite sites around the city, but why wait for me when you could be exploring?
