For those not in the know, Twitter has become the new social networking buzz. Twitter works very similarly to the status updates of Facebook but with a much cleaner interface. People create an account, start following others and then tweet about what they are doing. All the information is then aggregated into a timeline showing what all your friends are doing.

What I like about Twitter is that it is simple to use and it has a more mature feel to it. You don’t need to be someone’s friend to see their tweets and once you are their friend you aren’t bombarded with stupid app requests and endless photos. What is most interesting though is the diversity of users like corporate CEOs, celebrities, plants and average Joes.

What I don’t like about Twitter is that it is much harder get your social network going. There isn’t any clear functionality to find your friends on there, I had to go trolling through the followers of the few friends I could find in order to discover people I actually know. Without a reasonable sized network, you might as well go stand in a field and shout out your tweets, the same number of people will hear (read) them.
