I’ve been working at Electronic Arts now for a couple weeks. There has been a lot to learn in that time. I didn’t expect console game development to be so complicated. The team here is quite large, much larger than any I’ve worked on. Some of the software is quite sophisticated but some of the software is a bit low brow. Getting my PS3 dev kit set up turned out to be quite hard, and the thing is about 3X bigger than a retail PS3 making it difficult to move around.

The facilities at Electronic Arts are nice. There is a gym, soccer field, basketball court, volleyball court, hockey rink, cafeteria, library, store, and 2 coffee bars. I’m guessing having all those things helps when you are so far removed of places to walk to.
