We went to Play! A Video Game Symphony while it was playing at the Orphuem Theatre in Vancouver. It was a selection of music from video games over the last 20 years played by an orchestra and choir. Unlike normal symphonies the crowd was encouraged to cheer at things they liked. There were three screens hanging above the stage showing videos from the game that the orchestra was currently playing.
There were several exceptional pieces from Kingdom Hearts, Oblivion, World of WarCraft, Sonic the Hedgehog and Castlevania. The symphony was only on for one night and sold out rather quickly. It was a very entertaining night.
